Elkton Community Education Center (ECEC) is continuing its series of themed dinners, served at the ECEC Community Building at 15850 Highway 38 W in Elkton. A “Cinco de Mayo” dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5. A Mexican meal will be served, beginning at 6pm. Dinner includes dessert and coffee or punch. The suggested donation is $10 per person at each meal, with a limit of 60 guests for the evening. All proceeds from the meals go to support ECEC programs and projects. ECEC is a nonprofit organization founded to provide educational and artistic opportunities to all ages of participants. The center currently has a lending library, meeting facilities, native plant areas, walking trails, produce garden, butterfly pavilion and gift and espresso shop. Community history is spotlighted by the ongoing reconstruction of historic Fort Umpqua.
