Celebrate spring this year by attending a special tea at Elkton Community Education Center (ECEC). Elkton Quilters & Friends, a quilting group that meets at ECEC, is preparing and hosting a Spring Tea on Saturday, April 25, from 2pm to 4pm, in the ECEC library. The tea features specialty desserts and traditional finger foods, all served with tea. Formal dress is not required but there will be an award for the “most flamboyant” hat! There is a $10 per person charge and reservations are required. Money raised will benefit ECEC and its varied programs. Reservations may be made by calling ECEC at 541 584-2692 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Tickets for this year’s raffle quilt, “Summer Garden,” made by a member of the quilt group, will be for sale at the tea and throughout the summer. The drawing will be held on Labor Day weekend.
ECEC is a nonprofit organization founded to provide educational and artistic opportunities to all ages of participants. The center currently has a lending library, meeting facilities, art displays, native plant areas, nursery plant and produce stand, walking trails, butterfly pavilion and gift and espresso shop. Community history is spotlighted by the ongoing reconstruction of historic Fort Umpqua. For information about ECEC or any events, please call 541 584-2692.
