May 1st brings a 50 year Celebration with an Art Show and Reception
at the Forest Hills Country Club

Members of the Forest Hills Country Club, will be the featured artists at the May 1, 2015, First Friday . . . Art is for Everyone. The event will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm in the club house at the Forest Hills Golf Course, One Country Club Drive, Reedsport, OR 97467

Along with this art show and reception, the FHCC is kicking off its 50th anniversary celebration. FHCC is a local business and an asset to the Reedsport community. Ruby Koenig and Alison Myers are coordinating the talented members of FHCC and plan to show case a variety of art in a variety of mediums. Ruby said that “its members are looking forward to this event as a way to mark the beginning of the 50th Anniversary year.” She described the artists and their art included: are excited to Bill Hardy, wood sculpture; Cody Shirley, masks sculpted out of wood; Colleen Cooper, Pottery; Ruby Koenig, oils and acrylics; Jim Koenig, poetry and photography; Joyce Booren, water colors, oils, and mixed medium art. Ruby went onto say that” two additional artists are expected as well, although she does not know their art medium.” They are Melanie Schwartz and Shawn Leake. Ruby and Alison commented they plan to have food and spirits and that there will music playing during the event. Both are really looking forward to the event and hope that people of the community come out to “see how beautiful the golf course is this spring and to enjoy the celebration.”

First Friday events are FREE to attend. CDABA sponsors the First Friday art events at different locations, featuring different artists. Next up: June 5th at the Lower Umpqua Hospital, featuring artist Carole Hillsbery.
