Norman Miller Obituary

Norman Fred Miller, 92, Reedsport, died Wed. Mar. 4, 2015 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Sat. Mar. 14, 2015 at 1pm at the Reedsport Assembly of God Church, 509 N. 19th St. Reedsport. Private Cremation Rites have been held.

Norman Fred Miller was born Nov. 28, 1922 in Buhl, Id. to Fred and Marjorie (Weatherby) Miller. He was raised and educated in Clatskanie, and Westport  communities. He attended the Westport Grade School , Hazel Grove School and graduated from the Clatskanie High School.

He was united in marriage to Josephine LaVerna Guisinger on July 10, 1942 in Westport, Or.

They made their home in Delena and Clatskanie where they raised four children.

Norman went to work at the sawmill in his early years and then worked for Wauna Crown Zellerback, and the International Paper until his retirement in Jan. 1985.

Among his personal interests he loved being outdoors; rock hounding, fishing, crabbing, mushroom hunting as well as deer and elk hunting. He enjoyed working on the farm, raising cattle and gardening. Norman loved to go camping and spending special time with his grandchildren. He was a life-long member of the Assembly of God Church.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dorothy Matsen and his daughter, Christina Wolfe.

Survivors include his wife Josephine of Reedsport, children; Ruthie Hainey, AK.,Cheryl Rittierodt, Wa., Ron Miller, NV. Sisters; Thelma Henderson, Id., Linda Dietrick, Id., Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and many great grand and great-great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
