Reedsport, Oregon should be a Mecca for hikers because of the diversity of terrain, wildlife, and skill levels. Hundreds of miles of logging roads wind through timberland, BLM land, the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, the Umpqua National Forest, and the Siuslaw National Forest in addition to state parks and private timber land.
Here are a few of the better known hikes (there will be more to come):
Tahkenitch Creek Loop Trail
This hike has everything from dunes and coastal tidelands to moderate temperate rain forest and a gorgeous lake. Spectacular.
Kentucky Falls Trail
The Kentucky Falls Trail is roughly 4.5 miles and on the outskirts of Reedsport, Oregon. The hike features two waterfalls and spectacular beauty. It is rated as moderate and should pose no problems for anyone that can walk on uneven terrain.
John Dellenbach Trail
This is a fantastic 5 mile round trip trail located near Lakeside, Oregon.
Bluebill Lake Trail
An easy 1.25 mile hike around Bluebill lake down near Winchester Bay.
This is a five mile loop trail that goes through tidelands, past rivers, along lakes and brings flora and fauna up close and personal. Located near Florence, Oregon.
Hall Lake Trail
The Hall Lake Trail is a 1.5 mile hike around the Schuttpelz and Hall Lakes. It is located in the Suislaw National Forest across from Tugman State Park, 8 miles south of Reedsport in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Hikers will find waterfalls, Pacific Ocean views, and the stunning dunes.
Golden and Silver Falls Trail
Down near North Bend hikers will love the Golden and Silver Falls Trail. Just over four miles long and easy enough for any skill level. Great waterfall.
