Winchester Bay, Oregon

Winchester Bay is located just a few miles south of Reedsport on Highway 101. Winchester Bay and Salmon Harbor are at the mouth of the Umpqua River.  With scenic beauty of the dunes, the bay, the river and the beach – it’s no wonder that Winchester Bay has a population of  photographers, artists, crabbers, clam diggers, fishermen, wildlife watchers, beachcombers and of course, dune buggiers!

Winchester Bay is located in the heart of the Oregon Dunes and you will find awesome beaches, dunes, hiking, and of course, fantastic fishing. Whether you are looking for  salmon, bottom fish, sturgeon, bass, trout and many other varieties of fish. There are more than 30 lakes for those who prefer freshwater fishing: bluegill, steelhead, cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, catfish, crappie and hybrid bass are all available. There’s also clamming and crabbing – and in August and September there is a $10,000 Crab Bounty Hunt along with the Salmon Derby.
